Silver Lake after dark, a walk with Daniel Reyes

The reservoir loop, the stairs nobody tells you about, and the streets where homes sell before they reach the market.

Senior Agent, Westside

Most people meet Silver Lake from the car. The neighborhood makes more sense on foot, especially in the hour after sunset when the hills turn blue and the houses light up one window at a time.

Start at the reservoir

The loop around the reservoir is a little over two miles. Walk it counterclockwise and you get the best views of the Neutra houses on the eastern slope, along with a fair read of who is renovating and who is about to sell.

Then take the stairs

Silver Lake has dozens of public stairways that connect the hillside streets. They are the quickest way to understand which blocks have views and which ones only claim to. Before any client makes an offer here, we walk the stairs together.

If you would like the full route, ask Daniel. He has walked it with more than a hundred buyers.
